Attorney Basha was born and raised in Burlington and returned to Vermont to practice after completing his legal education at Vermont Law School and a judicial externship at the Vermont Supreme Court. Uncertainty about legal fees is one of the most common reasons Vermonters hesitate to seek counsel, even when they know they need it. Basha Law was built to eliminate that hesitation.
Before any work begins on your matter, you receive a written engagement agreement setting out precisely how you will be billed, in what amount, and under what terms. You will never wonder what your representation is costing you.

Personal injury matters are handled on a contingency basis. No attorney's fee is charged unless we obtain a recovery on your behalf.

The Firm reserves the right to bill hourly at Attorney Basha's rate where the nature or complexity of a particular matter requires it. Any such arrangement is disclosed and agreed in writing before it begins.

Every representation is determined case-by-case and confirmed in a written engagement agreement before any work begins. Personal injury matters may include case costs and expenses separate from the contingency fee, as set out in the engagement agreement.

Personal injury matters are handled on a contingency basis, meaning no attorney's fee is charged unless we recover on your behalf. All other matters are handled primarily on flat-fee engagements, scoped to the nature of your matter following consultation. The Firm reserves the right to bill hourly at Attorney Basha's rate where a particular matter requires it. Whatever the arrangement, every fee and every term is disclosed and agreed in writing before any work begins.
Do I pay for the initial consultation?
Yes. Consultations are paid up front through our online booking system. That fee reserves 30 minutes of direct time with Attorney Basha and ensures every client's matter gets the attention it deserves. If we agree to move forward together, we discuss how that consultation fee credits toward your engagement.
Do you offer values-based or faith-aligned estate planning?
Yes. We draft wills, trusts, and directives that honor your family's traditions and values alongside Vermont law. This includes Islamic estate planning and other faith-based or cultural planning tailored to each family's tradition and objectives.
What if I've never worked with a lawyer before?
That is one of the most common situations we encounter. Attorney Basha explains every step of the process clearly and without unnecessary jargon. The practice was designed to be accessible to first-time legal clients, immigrant families, and anyone who has felt condescended to by more traditional legal services.
What parts of Vermont do you serve?
We serve clients throughout the entire State of Vermont. Our office is located in South Burlington, conveniently accessible from Interstate 189 with on-site parking. In-person consultations are available at the office; video and telephone consultations are available for clients anywhere in the State.
Are you licensed to practice outside Vermont?
Currently, we advertise licensure only in Vermont. Basha Law handles matters governed by Vermont law and represents Vermont clients throughout the state.
